Baseball Recap: Chariho Comes Up Short

Chariho's last matchup with Westerly could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Saturday. The Chargers lost 9-2 to the Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Leo Emery was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

Chariho now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Westerly, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Chariho has already played their next contest, an 8-1 victory against Johnston on the 21st. As for Westerly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 17-0 win against Mt. Hope on the 22nd.
