Game recap: Fort Wayne Wayne High School Football Team wins against Fort Wayne South Side

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Fort Wayne Wayne (Fort Wayne, Ind.) saw its 15-point lead shrink to nine, but hung on to beat Fort Wayne South Side (Fort Wayne, Ind.) 15-6 on Saturday.

The score was knotted at zero heading into the half. The Generals took the lead for good on an Austin Yarbro touchdown run in the third quarter.

Fort Wayne South Side's lone touchdown came on a 2-yard run by Latrell Ware in the fourth quarter.

Coming into the game Fort Wayne Wayne had allowed 18.5 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Archers well below their season average of 16.8 points scored per game.



The win brought Fort Wayne Wayne's winning streak to three games.

Fort Wayne Wayne (5-2) goes up against Fort Wayne Northrop in a Summit game matchup next week, while Fort Wayne South Side (2-5) locks horns with Fort Wayne North Side also in a Summit game.
