Football Recap: Braden River Pirates vs. Southeast Seminoles

Braden River was the 35-7 winner over Southeast when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates took a 28-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seminoles on Friday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Braden River didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Anquan Polynice and Trevion Dixon. Freedom McDaniel was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Liam Fernandez, who threw for 273 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Those 273 passing yards gave Fernandez a new career-high. 85 of Fernandez's passing yards were hauled in by Reece Wilson.

Braden River's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Southeast, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Braden River wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-20 defeat against Manatee on the 24th.
