Baseball Recap: Briarcliff Triumphs

Briarcliff proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Pawling Tigers 7-5. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Caden Roth got the start for Briarcliff and what a start it was: he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Roth has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Noah Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Briarcliff's victory bumped their record up to 11-5-1. As for Pawling, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Briarcliff's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on North Salem at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pawling, they will challenge Blind Brook at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
