Softball Recap: Brandon Valley Takes Down Ranked Mitchell

Brandon Valley faced Mitchell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Lynx blew past the Kernels 18-2. Winning may never get old, but the Lynx sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Amdahl, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Fitts, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Brandon Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Brandon Valley's record now sits at 8-1. As for Mitchell, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Brandon Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Mitchell will challenge rival Yankton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
