Softball Recap: Spearville Takes a Loss

If Spearville was riding high fresh off their 16-6 takedown of Ellsworth last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lancers lost 14-4 to the Skyline Thunderbirds on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lancers have suffered since April 17th.

Ema Karrer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lily Blackburn, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Spearville's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Skyline, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Spearville beat the Thunderbirds by a score of 10-8 later that day.
