Basketball Game Preview: Henderson Collegiate Pride vs. Roxboro Community Bulldogs

Henderson Collegiate is 2-8 against Roxboro Community since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Henderson Collegiate Pride will head out on the road to take on the Roxboro Community Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-27, which was the final score in Henderson Collegiate's tilt against Oxford Prep on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Roxboro Community put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Excelsior Classical Academy 61-20. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 26 points or more this season.

Henderson Collegiate better focus on containing Karrie Obie and Katherine-Kaey 'Katie' Mann as the pair were huge in Roxboro Community's win. Obie dropped a double-double with 18 points and 24 boards, while Mann went 8-for-18 on her way to 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. What's more, Mann also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Jeniya McCain was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Roxboro Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Henderson Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Roxboro Community, they pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
