Basketball Recap: Calvin Harper Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

East Duplin hadn't done well against Wallace-Rose Hill recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The East Duplin Panthers managed a 66-62 victory over the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in January, they had to take a 74-48 defeat.

East Duplin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Calvin Harper, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 21 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ryan Jenkins, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

East Duplin's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, East Duplin will head out to face off against Southwest Onslow at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southwest Onslow has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they will welcome James Kenan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
