League recap: Marquette Catholic win leads to rise in state rank

Marquette Catholic moved up to 222 from 267 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Prairie State. The Explorers were able to make move up by besting Waterloo 28-21.

Marquette Catholic extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bulldogs, 28-21. The win marks eighth in a row for the Tim Nelson's team.

Thanks to the talents of Luke Hamlin and Austin Chausse Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Hamlin leads the league in passing with 868 yards, while Chausse has rushed for 1253 yards this season. Bunker Hill's Ike Jackson leads the league in receiving yards with 456 on 25 catches.

The Explorers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,013 from 7,397. The improvement was the result of 28-21 victory over Waterloo last week.
