Softball Recap: Laurel Comes Up Short

Laurel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 17-5 to the Gautier Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-4 back in March.

Laurel's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Gautier, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Laurel will take on Stone at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Tornadoes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tomcats have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Gautier, they will head out on the road to take on Wayne County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Gators are facing the War Eagles at the right time seeing as the War Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
