Soccer Game Preview: Jordan vs. Compton

Jordan is 8-1-1 against Compton since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will challenge the Tarbabes at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Compton will have to contend with a Jordan team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since December 4. Jordan lost 6-2 to Millikan on Friday. While losing is never fun, Jordan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 609th, while Millikan are ranked 76th).

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Compton after they claimed the first goal on Friday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Cabrillo by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Compton have lost by just one goal.

Jordan now has a losing record of 3-4-2. As for Compton, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 2-8-2.

Jordan skirted past Compton 2-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
