Basketball Game Preview: Canton Tigers vs. Morton Panthers

The Canton Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Morton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Canton will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Clinton, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Tigers took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 70-28 win over the Arrows. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-12.

Shamira Morton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 31 points and 11 boards. Dekendra Mitchell was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Canton was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Morton blew past Leake Central, posting a 79-41 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Canton's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Morton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
