Preview: Brookhaven Panthers vs. Vancleave Bulldogs
The Brookhaven Panthers will be playing at home against the Vancleave Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Brookhaven's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Vancleave has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Thursday, Brookhaven's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 29-14 victory over Natchez.
Meanwhile, even though Wayne County scored an imposing 35 points on Friday, Vancleave still came out on top. Vancleave narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Wayne County 38-35.
Vancleave can attribute much of their success to Derik Forehand, who rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown, and Kyle Capers, who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Brookhaven to 7-4 and Vancleave to 4-6.
