Baseball Game Preview: Murphy Bulldogs vs. Hiwassee Dam Eagles

Murphy has gone 8-2 against Hiwassee Dam recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will host the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Murphy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Murphy was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Andrews, sneaking past 3-2.

Colton Morgan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Murphy is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Murphy secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Aayden Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Hiwassee Dam lost 17-4 to Towns County on Monday. The Eagles have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Murphy's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Hiwassee Dam, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1.
