Baseball Recap: Harmony Comes Up Short

Harmony extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 3-17 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hughes Springs Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-2 on Tuesday.

As for Hughes Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games.

For Hughes Springs' part, the team relied heavily on Bryce Ratley, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Ratley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trenton Pemberton, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Harmony didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-1 loss against New Diana on the 15th. As for Hughes Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-2 win against Chapel Hill on the 15th.
