Volleyball Recap: Avon Eagles vs. Euclid Panthers

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Euclid Panthers.

Avon wouldn't go down easily and took Euclid into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 16-25, 23-25, 15-12.

Landon Gomez paced Avon's offense, picking up 12 kills. Gomez got some help from Keegan Tarkany and his 23 assists. Tarkany was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Euclid, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Avon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Rhodes on the 3rd. Hopefully Euclid payed attention to the Eagles' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
