The Corbin Redhounds will head out on the road to take on the Choctawhatchee Indians at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Corbin will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Corbin had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Daviess County on Thursday. The Redhounds blew past the Panthers 16-6. The Redhounds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Jaden Broughton made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Noah Cima was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Corbin is 3-1 when Cima posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Cooper McCauley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triples of the season.
Corbin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Choctawhatchee's hitters rose to the challenge against a Yellowjackets pitching crew that boasted an average of only 4.08 runs allowed on Wednesday. The Indians put the hurt on Woodford County with a sharp 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Isaiah Rohn looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aaron Rowell, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Ryan Saffo was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Corbin's record now sits at 5-6. As for Choctawhatchee, their record is now 12-9.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Corbin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Choctawhatchee struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
