After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tournament Opponent, Northwest was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen 8-7. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

May Barnholtz was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. McKenzie Neff also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Northwest's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Franklin Road Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Northwest didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 loss against Stewart County on the 22nd. Franklin Road Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
