Volleyball Recap: Papillion-Lavista Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Drew Schnabel and Elsie Ryan

Papillion-LaVista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Millard North Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Monarchs of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Papillion-LaVista started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18.

Papillion-LaVista's loss came despite strong showings from Elsie Ryan and Drew Schnabel. Ryan had 19 digs and seven assists, while Schnabel had 13 digs and eight assists. With that strong performance, Ryan is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

Millard North found their leader in sophomore Ava Whitmarsh, who had 16 digs and five assists.

Papillion-LaVista's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Millard North, they pushed their record up to 11-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Papillion-LaVista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln High on the 11th. As for Millard North, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Millard South on the 2nd.
