Baseball Recap: Grayson County Finds Home Field Redemption Against Varsity Opponent

There's no place like home for Grayson County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Varsity Opponent on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mav Goad was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Grayson County is undefeated when Goad posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Makray Goad was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Grayson County's win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Coming up, Grayson County is taking a road trip to square off against Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 19-0 win against Grace Academy on the 3rd.
