Recap: Richland Northeast Cavaliers vs. Spring Valley Vikings
The Richland Northeast Cavaliers lost against the Spring Valley Vikings back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Richland Northeast lost to Spring Valley at home by a decisive 62-48 margin.
Despite the defeat, Richland Northeast had strong showings from Zimarika Moorer, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, and Lujain Jallab, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Moorer scored a full 37.5% of Richland Northeast's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Richland Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Spring Valley, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland Northeast will square off against Irmo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Irmo will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Spring Valley will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Rock Hill at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Rock Hill and Spring Valley are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
