Softball Recap: West Central Area Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

West Central Area had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Brandon/Evansville on Friday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Chargers. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Madison Fagre was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two triples, and four RBI. Nora Anderson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Central Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

West Central Area's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Brandon/Evansville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

West Central Area will head out on the road to square off against Minnewaska Area at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brandon/Evansville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Rothsay at 4:00 p.m. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.57 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
