Basketball Recap: Business Engineering Science Tech's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Business Engineering Science Tech ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Mount Paran Christian Eagles by a score of 75-66. Given Business Engineering Science Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Mount Paran Christian is ranked 239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Business Engineering Science Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Mickell, who posted 22 points and eight rebounds. Mickell's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Mickell, who went 6 of 13 to rack up 18 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

Business Engineering Science Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mount Paran Christian lost, don't look at Cameron Hewling. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 10 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. Hewling is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Andric Parent, who scored 13 points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Business Engineering Science Tech, bringing their record for this year to 18-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.8 points over those games. As for Mount Paran Christian, they now have a losing record at 12-13.

Business Engineering Science Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Paran Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-31 victory against Atlanta International on the 8th.
