Basketball Recap: Connor Perkins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dietrich over Oakley

After flying high against Raft River last Thursday, Dietrich came back down to earth. The Dietrich Blue Devils fell to the Oakley Hornets 51-47. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Perkins, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Perkins is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Corrd Wells was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Dietrich's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Oakley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Dietrich didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-31 victory against Castleford on the 5th. As for Oakley, they have also already played their next contest, a 55-50 win against Hagerman on the 3rd.
