Basketball Game Preview: Bear River Bears vs. Ridgeline Riverhawks

Bear River is 0-10 against Ridgeline since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bear River Bears will be playing at home against the Ridgeline Riverhawks at 7:00 p.m.

Bear River is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Mountain Crest, falling 65-45. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Mustangs are ranked 32nd).

Despite their defeat, Bear River saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aubree Fry, who posted 14 points and eight boards, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Capener, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Ridgeline put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by West Field to the tune of 72-30. With the Riverhawks ahead 38-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Ridgeline pushed their record up to 22-0 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Bear River, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Bear River took a serious blow against Ridgeline when the teams last played back in January, falling 69-22. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ridgeline's Emilee Skinner, who almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine rebounds.
