The Uintah Utes will venture away from home to take on the Orem Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Uintah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.

Uintah is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Grantsville, who was ranked 20th at the time (Uintah was ranked 22nd). The Utes fell just short of the Cowboys by a score of 9-8 on Friday. The Utes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lynlee Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Kayla Olson and Kenadee Mcallister stepped up to the plate in a big way. Olson went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs, while Mcallister got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Olson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Morrow, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Orem waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Timberwolves.

Orem also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Kiley Hoshnic gave up four earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Sadie Groneman was incredible, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Orem pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Uintah, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Uintah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Orem struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Uintah couldn't quite finish off Orem when the teams last played back in March and fell 11-9. Can the Utes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
