Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Ravenscroft's Fourth in Last Five Outings

After losing to Cary Academy the last time they met, Ravenscroft decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Ravenscroft Ravens came out on top against the Cary Academy Chargers by a score of 53-40 on Friday.

Despite the loss, Cary Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Julian Tweedy dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Tweedy's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Champ Lando, who posted eight points.

Ravenscroft has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Cary Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9.

Ravenscroft didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-69 defeat against Jordan on the 18th. Cary Academy has also already played their next game (against North Raleigh Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
