Basketball Game Preview: Andover Trojans vs. Salina Central Mustangs

Andover has gone 10-0 against Salina Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Andover Trojans will be playing at home against the Salina Central Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Andover is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.5 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Andover strolled past Newton with points to spare, taking the game 65-48. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Railroaders are ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Andover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Kim, who went 6 for 15 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. The game was Kim's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Walker McClellan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Salina Central came up short against Maize on Tuesday, falling 69-43. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Andover's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Salina Central, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
