Baseball Game Preview: Malden Catholic Lancers vs. Boston College High Eagles

Malden Catholic is 0-10 against Boston College High since May of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lancers will face off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m.

Malden Catholic lost 11-1 to St. John's Prep on Monday.

Meanwhile, Boston College High had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Hawks 13-3. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Adam Bushley looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Boston College High got a massive performance out of Sam Bushley, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brody Beale, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Boston College High always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Xaverian Brothers only posted an OBP of .406.

Malden Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Boston College High, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Malden Catholic might still be hurting after the 14-2 defeat they got from Boston College High when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
