Basketball Recap: Seminole Ridge Falls Short of Dwyer in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Seminole Ridge can now relate to. They took a blow against the Dwyer Panthers on Monday, falling 78-30. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-14.

Despite the loss, Seminole Ridge had strong showings from Alejandro Alava, who posted ten points, and Tremayne Laing, who earned five points and seven boards. That's the most points Laing has posted since back in December of 2024.

Dwyer got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was KODEN BROWN out in front who made all 6 shots he took to post 14 points in addition to six assists and six steals. BROWN is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was JORDAN QUINCE, who put up 13 points and six steals.

Seminole Ridge's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Dwyer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Seminole Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dwyer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-50 loss against Royal Palm Beach on the 5th.
