Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lucy Mitchell and Charlotte George Lead Medway to Victory

Medway won the last time they faced Dedham and things went their way on Monday too. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 win over the Marauders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Medway had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-16.

Leading Medway to victory were Charlotte George and Lucy Mitchell. George had 12 digs and two aces, while Mitchell had ten digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Mitchell a new career-high in assists (35). Emma Copeland also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Medway was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive contests.

Medway picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Dedham, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Medway is set to challenge their familiar foe Hopkinton at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dedham will take on rival Millis at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
