Soccer Recap: Monrovia Comes Up Short

The matchup between Monrovia and Greenwood Christian Academy on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bulldogs came up short against the Cougars, falling 15-0. While losing is never fun, Monrovia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Greenwood Christian Academy are ranked 78th).

Monrovia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monrovia will venture away from home to face off against Speedway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they will head out to take on University at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greenwood Christian Academy will be up against University's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.83 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
