Baseball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Casa Grande on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-3. The Mountain Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 4-0.

Mountain View saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benjamin Cleveland, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Cleveland brought in this season.

Mountain View dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Casa Grande, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-0 loss against Canyon del Oro on the 15th. As for Casa Grande, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-5 win against Flowing Wells on the 11th.
