Recap: Desert Ridge Jaguars vs. Highland Hawks
It was a good run, but the Desert Ridge Jaguars unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 12-0 to Highland. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Desert Ridge in their matchups with Highland: they've now lost four in a row.
Major Wootan threw for 129 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes. Creed Hallows was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards. On the ground, Isiah Palmer rushed for 26 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kalen Fisher, who threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. Greg Toler jr did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Desert Ridge now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Ridge will take on Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highland will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chandler at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Chandler is ranked second, while Highland is ranked fifth).
