Basketball Recap: Wheeling Takes a Loss

Wheeling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to the Highland Park Giants on the road by a 53-35 margin. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Giants are ranked 184th).

Wheeling's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Highland Park, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Wheeling and Leyden will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Highland Park has already played their next matchup (against Lake Forest Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
