            Baseball Recap: Aptos Mariners vs. St. Francis Sharks        
        
		
        
        
            The home team had won the previous three meetings between Aptos and St. Francis, and St. Francis kept the tradition alive. The Aptos Mariners fell just short of the St. Francis Sharks by a score of  5-3 on Wednesday. The Mariners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2022.
 Aptos saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Dom Castillo, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.  Adam Ayon also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
Aptos' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. Francis, their victory was  their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 4-3.
 Looking ahead, Aptos will welcome Scotts Valley  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. Scotts Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7  runs per game  this season. As for St. Francis, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Soledad  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. St. Francis also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 6.7  runs per game.
