Basketball Game Preview: Charlottesville Black Knights vs. Albemarle Patriots

Charlottesville is on a 21-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Albemarle is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Charlottesville Black Knights will welcome the Albemarle Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Charlottesville is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Spotswood just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Trailblazers by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Black Knights have suffered since February 27, 2024.

Meanwhile, Albemarle strolled past Monticello with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 63-45. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Mustangs are ranked 368th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Albemarle's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Charlottesville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
