Basketball Recap: Donovan Davidson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Empire over Pusch Ridge Christian Academy

Empire lost against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Empire Ravens came up short against the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions, falling 70-49. The Ravens have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Ravens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Donovan Davidson, who posted 20 points. Davidson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khari Gurley, who scored eight points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Leading Pusch Ridge Christian Academy to victory were Levi Adcock and Hunter Edmunds. Adcock dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Edmunds dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Adcock a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Hardeman, who earned 11 points and five assists.

Empire's loss dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Empire does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they will take on Seton Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. One thing working in Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
