Baseball Recap: Greenfield Comes Up Short

Greenfield was the 3-2 winner over Dresden when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Yellowjackets fell 5-2 to the Lions on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Easton Sullivan was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Greenfield's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for Dresden, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

While Greenfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
