Baseball Game Preview: Rangely Panthers vs. Rye Thunderbolts

The Rangely Panthers will challenge the Rye Thunderbolts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Rangely and three for Rye.

Rangely lost 13-5 to Buena Vista on Friday.

Hunter Fouch made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Bollinger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Rye didn't have quite enough to beat Buena Vista on Friday and fell 4-3.

Rye saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Clennin, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Rye's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Rangely, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rangely has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rye struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Rangely got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Rye by a conclusive 12-6 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunderbolts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
