Basketball Recap: Colonia Comes Up Short

Colonia lost to St. Joseph back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patriots took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Falcons are ranked third).

Leading St. Joseph to victory were Aidan Carter and Andrew Kretkowski. Carter posted 20 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards, while Kretkowski put up 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Carter is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Imaad Johnson, who scored 12 points.

Colonia has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for St. Joseph, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Colonia has already played their next game, a 53-37 win against Hightstown on the 15th. As for St. Joseph, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-57 victory against Piscataway on the 15th.
