Football Recap: San Ysidro Falls to Calexico in First Game of Season

San Ysidro unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 42-20 to the Calexico Bulldogs on Friday.

Although San Ysidro took the loss, they still got scores from Bryan Landeros, Dario Garcia, and Aaron Garcia.

Andre Lopez had a dynamite game For Calexico., rushing for 157 yards and four touchdowns. Those 157 rushing yards gave Lopez a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Jose Fernandez, who rushed for 63 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Coming up, San Ysidro will take on Clairemont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calexico, they will challenge Southwest EC at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
