Soccer Recap: South Lakes Comes Up Short

South Lakes lost against Washington-Liberty back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Seahawks came up short against the Generals, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, South Lakes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Washington-Liberty are ranked 42nd).

This is the second loss in a row for South Lakes and nudges their season record down to 0-5-1. As for Washington-Liberty, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

South Lakes and Washington-Liberty will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Seahawks see the pitch they'll take on Oakton at 7:15 p.m. on the 24th. As for Washington-Liberty, their break will end when they face George C. Marshall at 7:15 p.m. on the 22nd.
