Basketball Game Preview: Redfield Pheasants vs. Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots

The Redfield Pheasants will square off against the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Redfield and three for Hitchcock-Tulare.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-25, which was the final score in Redfield's tilt against Sisseton on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Hitchcock-Tulare was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 46-45 to Wessington Springs.

Redfield will have to contain Katelyn Schroeder as she made an impact in Hitchcock-Tulare's last game. She almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isabel Gilbert, who posted three points along with 11 assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Hitchcock-Tulare was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Hitchcock-Tulare's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Redfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Redfield won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, slipping by Hitchcock-Tulare 31-30. Will Redfield repeat their success, or does Hitchcock-Tulare have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
