Volleyball Recap: Palmer Ridge Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Palmer Ridge can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Lewis-Palmer Rangers on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Rangers: they've now lost five in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 19-25, 25-6, 25-17.

Lewis-Palmer's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cady Knight, who had 27 digs and three aces. Knight is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 23 games she's played. Olivia Ivall was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

Palmer Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Lewis-Palmer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Palmer Ridge and Lewis-Palmer will both be playing Canon City the next time they take the court. The Bears will head out to face the Tigers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Rangers will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
