Baseball Recap: American Canyon's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

American Canyon dropped their record down to 8-10 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 11-7 to the Sonoma Valley Dragons. The Wolves were not able to make up for their loss to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Dylan Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Noah Johnson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for Sonoma Valley, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-15. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Sonoma Valley's side, Henry Foster looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Foster has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cayden Waldrop was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Colin Buckley was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Coming up, American Canyon will be playing in front of their home fans against Moreau Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mariners will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. Sonoma Valley will be paying especially close attention to American Canyon's match: after American Canyon faces off against Moreau Catholic, they'll take on Sonoma Valley again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
