Football Recap: Brady Skates Past Bayard with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mullen, Brady was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-8 victory over the Bayard Tigers. The Eagles pushed the score to 34-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

It was another big night for Cinch Sanger, who rushed for 168 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, and also threw for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 168 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Brady didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Payton Miller and Canin Golter. Golter also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 13.

Brady's record now sits at 2-3. As for Bayard, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Brady is taking a road trip to challenge Sandhills/Thedford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 37.4 points per game this season. As for Bayard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hyannis at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
