Basketball Game Preview: Ellsworth Panthers vs. Osceola Chieftains

The Ellsworth Panthers will face off against the Osceola Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ellsworth is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Ellsworth challenged Prescott on Tuesday. Ellsworth took a 51-36 bruising from Prescott.

Meanwhile, Osceola hadn't done well against Somerset recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Osceola came out on top in a nail-biter against Somerset, sneaking past 38-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chieftains have posted against the Spartans since December 16, 2021.

Osceola's win ended a 17-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6. As for Ellsworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Ellsworth strolled past Osceola when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 43-26. Will Ellsworth repeat their success, or does Osceola have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
