With a playoff win on the line, Thornton Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Scarborough Red Storm 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Red Storm back in May, they had to take a 5-2 defeat.

Thornton Academy got a great performance from Ben Indorf as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Indorf has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cam Cyr and Brennan Tabor did most of the damage at the plate: Cyr went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Tabor went 3-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits Cyr has posted since back in May. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Moody, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Thornton Academy and bumps their season record up to 14-4-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Scarborough, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-2 record.

As of now, neither Thornton Academy nor the Red Storm have any future games scheduled.
