Baseball Recap: Morgan City Comes Up Short

Morgan City lost against South Terrebonne back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Morgan City fell just short of South Terrebonne by a score of 6-5. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Thomas Mancuso made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had over his last 11 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Guarisco, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Morgan City's record is now 8-20. As for South Terrebonne, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-13-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgan City will square off against Highland Baptist Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Highland Baptist Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.18 runs per game on average), something Morgan City will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Terrebonne, they will challenge Albany at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
